Skyborne Airline Academy Launched
Three leading figures in aviation training have launched a new academy, Skyborne, to meet the increasing demands of the industry for “innovative airline-focused training”. Entrepreneur Tom Misner will be joined by Lee Woodward (formerly business development director at CTC Aviation) and Ian Cooper (previously operations director at CAE), creating what they claim is “a team with exceptional experience in commercial aviation, education and training”.
The new academy will welcome its first cadets in October, following the completion of a purpose-built facility at Gloucestershire Airport, and will initially offer full-time frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (fATPL) training. Skyborne’s CEO Woodward, said: “Our vision is that every trainee should graduate with the tools they need to really thrive in their chosen career. There is high demand for competent, suitable and resilient individuals in aviation. Our bespoke and airlinefocused academy means we will be able to deliver such excellence.”
