Brazilian KC-390 delivers aid to Haiti following deadly earthquake

A Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB, Brazilian Air Force)-operated Embraer KC-390 Millennium tactical tanker-transport has delivered humanitarian aid to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, after the Caribbean nation was hit by a deadly 7.2 magnitude earthquake on August 14.

The aircraft – assigned to 1° Grupo de Transporte de Tropa (1st GTT, 1st Troop Transport Group) ‘Zeus’ – departed Brasília, western Brazil, for Port-au-Prince in the morning of August 22. A ceremony was held prior to the KC-390’s departure and marked the beginning of the operation. It was attended by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and the Haitian Ambassador to Brazil, Rachel Coupaud, among others. This emergency aid delivery sortie comes as part of Brazil’s Multidisciplinary Humanitarian Mission.
