• A Mi-17 operated by the Afghan National Army conducted an emergency landing in southern Helmand province on May 12. The helicopter, which was supporting a security operation in the Yakhchal area of Greshk district at the time, was subsequently destroyed by Iraqi forces as a security measure.

• Both crew aboard a Russian Air and Space Force Ka-52 were killed when the helicopter crashed in eastern Syria on May 7. The attack helicopter reportedly went down during a routine night ight.

• The rst prototype of the Embraer KC-390 tactical transport was involved in an incident in Sao Paulo on May 5. According to reports, the aircraft, which carries the registration PT-ZNF (c/n 39000001), overran the runway at Gavião Peixoto Airport during test runs. No injuries were reported.

• US Air Force WC-130H serial 65-0968 operated by the Puerto Rico Air National Guard’s 156th Airlift Wing crashed near Savannah, Georgia, on May 2. The Hercules went down on a state highway adjacent to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Port Wentworth shortly after take.

Five crew and four passengers were killed. The WC-130H was reportedly making its nal ight to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, before being retired.
