Throughout all four stations, over 40,000 Qantas flights will be handled by Menzies every year. The contract will expand the firm’s collaboration with the airline in Australia. The company currently provides the carrier with an array of services across 14 different international airports.

Meanwhile, the Scottish firm was recently awarded a contract by Jetstar – a low-cost subsidiary of the Qantas Group – at its Melbourne hub.

“We are delighted that Qantas has chosen Menzies once again as its handling partner of choice,” said Alistair Reid, EVP Menzies Aviation. “This award is the result of a close working relationship that we have cultivated in a number of locations, which has enabled us to develop a deep understanding of Qantas’ requirements. This contract win combined with the broadening of our relationship with Jetstar will see Menzies Aviation significantly increasing its footprint in Australia, which is strategically and commercially very important to us.”

Collectively, the awarded contracts strengthen Menzies presence in Australia, as well as the large amount of services provided within the market.
