The current Act is dated 1989, and came into force in 1990. It has been revised since. Before that we were on amendments of the 1939 Act, which is why things will be different to what you signed in the 60's.

Picking up J Boyle's theme - even though it was US serviceman who supplied the original material, Assange did not HAVE to publish anything.......
Presumably you would be equally indignant if the material in question had been leaked by.... I dunno.... an Iranian diplomat and was embarrassing to Iran?
If not, then why not?
Something like that!! :D
I'm checking interpols warrant list and booking flights now, just to be on the safe side.
You may award yourself an Internet Brownie Point.
God bless you, and all who sail in you.

Sure.
I'd be indignant if he leaked information about the UK.
Secrets are supposed to be secrets, dear boy.
Please tell me what good comes from printing a list of installations important to Amerixcan security. Does it not seem like a shopping list for foreign terrorists?
In this case these efforts are obviously aimed at one country, and it's sad that he's being cheered on by our occasional "allies" who see this guy as a hero.
As usual, many Europeans don't see the harm as long as it's aimed only at America and not them. Rather like their stance on radical Islam and terrorism in general.

Oh, not that old chestnut again Mr B?
I'm off to have my tea.
Just because it's old, doesn't measn it's not true.
Enjoy your tea.... No doubt raised by down-trodden indigenous people on plantations taken from them by English imperialists....enjoy. :D

Well he is ****** now with luck.
With luck, yes...and no bail! I just have a feeling that this will fast become a non-story. I don't think it interests the majority of the populace and the diplomatic fences will be largely rebuilt so Mr Assange will soon be forgotten - a footnote in the history of the 21st century - if he ends up in Sweden, he certainly will...;)

Mr Assange could have sold the details to the highest bidder, or perhaps he did? if he didn't why didn't he?
I am becoming more indifferent to governments protests the older I get.
I have already given up on any news be it radio TV or newspapers as being in any way genuine.:diablo::confused:

Ah, but no!
In my part of England - the bit wedged between Wales and the Lake District - "tea" is the evening meal, as well as a beverage.
In this particular instance a rather tasty chicken in white wine sauce pie topped with a tarragon scone, washed down with a nicely-chilled Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. :)

Think Mr ASSange will have other forms of exposure to worry about now he's going to be sharing a cell and shower......
"You're my wife now Julian..."
