Argentinian T-6Cs

Argentina is buying 12 Textron Beechcraft T-6C Texan II trainer aircraft, according to an announcement made by defence minister Julio Martinez on March 28. The T-6Cs will replace the Fuerza Aérea Argentina’s fleet of 24 Embraer EMB-312 Tucano trainers. In addition to training, the T-6C will be used for air policing along the borders with Paraguay and Brazil.

Martinez also announced that Argentina is deferring requirements for an additional 12 trainers, medium transports and other aircraft. Martinez also said state-owned aircraft manufacturer FADEA would restart production of the IA-63 Pampa trainer, and will build three aircraft within the next year.
