Over the years, Just Flight has gained a reputation for developing high-quality general aviation aircraft and historic regional jets for flight simulation. The BAe 146 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) has been on the market for around a year and has received excellent commendations, including the PC Pilot Platinum Award (see Issue 140). This time, after more than three years in development, the Just Flight in-house team has released another classic for MSFS, the F28 Professional. In this review, we take it for a spin and see how it measures up.
The Fokker F28 Fellowship was the Dutch aircraft manufacturer's first foray into the regional jet market. It was introduced to fulfil a requirement for an aircraft that could fly faster and carry a greater payload than the F27 Friendship but still be able to operate from small regional airports. The F28 was designed to be simple to maintain, so rather than using leading-edge slats and a complex reverse thrust mechanism, it was equipped with lift dumpers on the wings, a tail-mounted airbrake and powerful wheel brakes to give it the required short-field performance.
