Thrustmaster has announced a range of new products for PC dubbed the Viper TQS (Throttle Quadrant System), designed to replicate the controls, flight kinematics and sensations experienced by real Viper pilots.
The Viper TQS range is officially licensed by the US Air Force and is a 1:1 scale replica of an F-16 Viper throttle quadrant. It includes two products: the Viper TQS and Viper Panel. The two units can also be purchased as a bundle: the Viper TQS Mission Pack.
The Viper TQS is made from die-cast alloy and features a smooth throttle axis with metal bearings as well as idle/cutoff and afterburner detents. Other highlights include a rotating thrust lever handle with adjustable friction, metal control knobs and 21 action buttons: including a chaff/flare slap switch to deploy countermeasures and blackout switches for better immersion in dogfights. As with other Thrustmaster products, The Viper TQS features 16-bit H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) magnetic sensors for precise throttle inputs.
The Viper Panel features a landing gear lever with indicator lights, 43 action buttons (including 11 virtual buttons), a trim wheel, two rotary knobs, emergency stores jettison, laser sighting, jammer and weapon launch switches. The Viper Panel is also backlit with adjustable indicator lights on the landing gear controls and the TWA (Threat Warning Aux) panel.
The Viper TQS and Viper Panel are available as separate products. Both units can also be purchased as a bundle called the Viper TQS Mission Pack.
Pre-orders for the Viper product range will commence on August 23, 2023, with commercial availability starting October 11, 2023.
