The US Air Force Research Laboratory’s AgilePod programme, intended to provide a pod compatible with UAVs that can be configured with multiple sensor and data link payloads, depending on mission requirements, is planned to transition to a programme of record as the Enhanced Battlefield Awareness System (EBAS) in FY2021. It is planned to achieve initial operational capability on General Atomics-Aeronautical Systems Inc MQ-9 Reapers.
The US Air Force is also looking at the potential of integrating EBAS with the Northrop Grumman RQ-4B Global Hawk and the Lockheed Martin U-2R surveillance aircraft. David C Isby
