Heritage projects to receive funding boost

The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) is making £50m available in response to the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the UK’s heritage, it was announced today.

The new Heritage Emergency Fund will address immediate pressures over the next three to six months for those most in need alongside increased investment in digital skills across the sector, providing expertise in areas such as digital fundraising, use of social media and communications, running online events and activities.

Applications will be open to bodies ranging from museums, historic sites, industrial and maritime heritage attractions to libraries, parks and gardens. In addition, the NLHF is continuing to support 2,500 projects already in delivery across the UK, an overall commitment of £1.1bn. This funding has been made possible thanks to money raised by National Lottery players. www.HeritageFund.org.uk
