Early in November, AeroVironment announced it had received a US3.2 million firm fixed-price contract from the US Department of Defense (DoD) to provide RQ-20B Puma AE II small unmanned systems to an unspecified “allied nation” in the US findo-Pacific Command area of responsibility. Delivery is anticipated by March 30, 2019. AeroVironment’s family of small UAV systems has now been sold to more than 45 allied governments. Kirk Flittie, vice president and general manager of AeroVironment’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems business, said: “This contract is a good example of the additional procurement potential among our international customers.” Mark Broadbent
